Otakuroji reveals the deep why. Here is an answer. It offers
awesome
insights in how a Guymelef class Anime Series is built by the
masters.
The name of Leon, his acts and the Ispano may be inspired from
Moses de
Leon, editor/author of the Zohar in Spain. That book is so essential
to
the Kabbalah as Leon's diary is for the series. In the 13th century
the
Kabbalah has been founded and essentially enhanced by diaspora
Jews
living in exile in Spain and so as the word GiMALePh is a Kabbalistic
word, the Escaflowne Guymelef has been built by the Ispano, who
speak a
clear jewish accent and who life in the Gap, which is annother (a
divine)
form of an exile. There have been also some Isaacs involed in making
the
Kabbalah. Isaac the Blind (consider the Moleman) just before the time
of
Moses de Leon and Isaac Luria 200 years later.
No-one can understand the further contents without affinity to
occultism.
At least one must refer to the traditional tarot card and hebrew
letter

Word Guymelef is derived from the hebrew made-up word GiMALePh,
an
artifical merging of the two hebrew letters names Gimel and Aleph.
French or spanish kabbalistic sources spell Gimel as Guimel,
VOE character.
Gimel and Aleph prove to represent the following attributes:
Alef cosmic Consciousness
Spirit Space The Fool
Gimel Sub-Consciousness
Body Time
The High-Priestess
In the midst of the two letters in the order of the hebrew Alphabet
is
the letter Beth, a house.
Beth Self-Consciousness
Soul* Gravity** The Magician
* modern is to write "Personality" here
** The Magician is the lensing force in the center of consciousness,
like the gravity well of the sun. Hence he is attributed to Mercury,
which is the next closest planet, where that force is strongest
without
falling into the sun.
This center position is made-up by the AL in the word GiMALePh.
Hebrew
AL is God.
With the letters from the word GiMALePh and the birthdates of
the VOE
main characters, together with some other typical features of
certain
VOE characters, the divine ladder that links Gaea and Earth is
built.

Dilandau is Serena. His first appearance ('birth') scene is a
visual
merging of what can be seen on the traditional BOTA (! not Hitomi's
!)
tarot cards of "Strength" and "Justice". So the clue is:
Dilandau
Libra, ruled by Venus
Serena, namely the Moon and refering to the moon spirit Chasmodai,
is
born as a Lion, that is ruled by Sun. The Sun DEMON Asmodai (devastator)
and martial law is represented by Dilandau, Libra, ruled by Venus.
This
is the trick that makes Dilandau "Dilly" (the word >dilly<
in an english
slang, for our foreign readers = extraordinary) so terribly nice
and
that makes him change finally.
Chasmodai is the Charioteer sitting at the navel of the cosmos.
Aspects
of the body and the personality are represented by the different
Guymelefs and by Merle, who may also be viewed as growing rationality.
Especially Zaibachian Alseides and Oreades type Guymelefs have
fire and
liquid metal as weapons. The only known fluid metal is Quicksilver.
Fire
and Quicksilver wisely used are alchemical Sulfur (discretely
clued to by
key 4) and Mercury (1) and Archangel Michael's fire and water. Michael
is
depicted on tarot card 14 "Temperance", that is attributed to Sagittarius,
represented by Hitomi.
The birth colors, except Hitomi, and the zodiacal ruling planets
are
concrete definite attributions to Sefirot of the qabalitic tree
of life.
Eria and Naria do also feature such attributions. Naria by story
(not
the Anime Series/Movie) is known as the Mother of Merle with
Folken.

The ladder is formed as follows by joining characters together
by
planets and colors. The planet of the color of a person higher
in the
ladder rules the zodiacal sign of the character(s) adjacent below.
It is a ladder because the letters of GiMALePh are correlated
as well,
totally proving the entire alignment like a secret key.

The VOE characters ladder is a version of the tree of life. Correlation
of the GiMALePh letters works as follows:
Gimel traditionally attributed to
- the Moon by the High-Priestess
- the Saturn by the third Sefirot
Mem - Merle
- Merle is the only character who is 13 years old, Mem is the
13th
letter in the hebrew alfabeth (her name begins with M)
- Merle by color is Mercury, key 1 "The Magician", who occasionally
hangs over the abyss in the state of Da'at, depicted on the "Hanging
Man" card, which is traditionally Mem. So Merle appears once
hanging
upside down in a WINDOW.
- The Magician is the only possible individual being that can
exists
closest to the center of Unity. He is in the 'place' of Da'at,
when the
Self-Consciousness experiences Kether, while Kether is even above
Kronos. Merle in the place on the character ladder, when it is
seen as a
tree of life, apparently IS in the place of Da'at.
- WINDOW is traditionally "The Emperor", represented by Van,
on whom
Merle really hangs personally.
- Cancer is the Chariot, the Personality and the Body, represented
by
Merle and the Guymelef (gematria of GMALP is 10, Malkuth, attributed
to
GVP: Guph, the body). Van himself shows allmost no personality
during
the show. Rather later as an Angel he represents the true self.
Not the
ego. The Ego, the Personality is really represented by Merle,
who hangs
on Van.
Aleph - Dreiden - Dornkirk
- this is traditionally undisputed. The craddle of the sun is
the moon,
even if it dandles really stormy. See Otakuroji site of a sharper
look.
Lamed
- birth color of Serena is red, while red is also typical color
of
Dilandau's eyes, armor and Guymelef. These are clear references to Mars.
- number 5 of card Taurus (The Hierophant) is same as Mars Geburah.
- justice is a common topic of Taurus as "The Hierophant" and Libra
as
"Justice". We regard Millerna as Netsach though.
- certain scenes along with the numbers of Dragonslayers featured
in the
VOE Anime Series relate clearly to Geburah (aka Strenght) and
"Justice"
- highest letter "L" concentration here. On tarot cards 10 and
21 the
four corners of The Lucky Wheel (Jupiter) and The World (Saturn) are:

Phe
- Mars, ruling planet of Van and Allen, and The Tower are traditionally
attributed to Phe
- The Tower is first introduced in the VOE Series and Van is
the first
Gaean person whom Hitomi mets (on earth). The tower suggests
not only
destruction but also ascending into heaven. So Van in a miracle
takes
Hitomi with him to Gaea.
- the names of Van and Allen are derived from the astronomer
J. van
Allen, who discovered the so called "Van Allen Belt". This is
an area of
heavy focussed radiation (comming from the sun and focussed by
earth
gravity) around the planet and outside atmospehre, strongest
towards the
poles. It is a reason for polar lights, the "Natural Angels".
- features of Van and Allen are clearly related as follows:

Both key (card) numbers added together sum 17, "The Star", Folken.
So
this after all refers back to the first living individuum from
the top
of the ladder: Folken is Van's brother. Btw Hitomi Sagittarius
14 is 1
Merle and 4 Van combined as 4 + 10 (Jupiter, Allen). Hitomi is, like
Van,
Selena and Millerna 15 years of age.
The indeterminable top position in the ladder is made by the
Zaibachian
Empire in the Series and by the Black Dragon Clan in the Movie.
Zai- is
derived from the letter Zain, meaning sword. Zaibach, like some
other
words in the Escaflowne artpiece is german inspired and means
allegorically something like "Village of the Sword". It's a village
for
the reason that it's at the tip position of the ladder not only
the
origin of the sword, but also the origin, the craddle of the
sun: Japan
compared to the world and the countrys as cities is the size
of a
village. The sword is a symbol for action and distinction. Being
of
steel it signifies Mars and by the letter Zain (sword) it is
a clue to
Gemini. This is one of the reasons, why Dreiden besides Merle
can be seen
as The Fool, who is traditionally placed above all cards like in the
Escaflowne context he first appears directly right hand the middle of the
series, acting as being over all mature. The sword comes perfect in the
last episode by The Lovers card.
Hitomi lives on earth, but we see her on/in Gaea allmost all
the time of
the show. Sure enough like Van (4) and Merle (1) in an occult
manner are
1+2+3+4 the same person (you may e.g say "One" and compare to say "Van",
which boths sounds very homophonic), there are enough more mystical
relations of yet unexplained 'open ends' in the occult skeleton of
the
Escaflowne concept (e.g. Earth and Saturn by Isaac), so that Gaea and
Earth, the 'inside' and the 'outside' become united like Alef and Gimel
in the word GiMALePh. And so that Hitomi really becomes the
specially
attributedly unattributed everybody that may be every viewer of the
series. So word of her name suggests this by meaning pupil, a hole
next
the lens of the eye, the everydays physiobiological magician
that bends
the light by muscle powers to focuses in order to measure the manifest
vision.

in
